Our Blog provides an introduction to some of the local characters of Tuscany, insight on the history and beauty of the surroundings, and information on special events.  Posts will include, for example, recipes capturing the taste of Tuscany, introductions to the wine and wineries of Tuscany, guides to porcini mushroom and wild asparagus collecting in the Tuscan forests, information on the native orchids of Tuscany and where to observe them, a look at the artists of Tuscany, visits to Tuscan towns and monuments, and much more.

Food & Wine

We can all learn a lot from the Tuscan way of life, particularly when it comes to eating and drinking.  Tuscan food is simple, sensuous, fresh and tasty.  Tuscan wines come from an impassioned tradition of winemaking.  Click on Food and Wine for dining recommendations, or just stay home and enjoy some of the authentic recipes from the region.

Lodging

There are many fully-furnished apartments in Tuscany, available for vacation rentals. For example, Cas’ Anita in Dogana (GR) offers two fully-furnished apartments (a 2 bedroom / 2 bath unit and a 1 bedroom / 1 bath unit), with central air conditioning and full kitchens, in a garden setting with a spectacular view. Live like a native.

One of the great treats for city folks is to be able to relax in one of the many rural agriturismi located throughout Tuscany.  Agriturismi are typically renovated farm houses that offer bed and breakfast accommodations.  Some offer not only bed and breakfast, but gourmet Tuscan cuisine for lunch and dinner.  Fancy hotels have their place, and there is no shortage of them in the area, but to get a real lay of the land, you can't beat the experience of staying at an agriturismo in Tuscany.
